As part of the pre planning works a walk over inspection of the proposed development is carried out to identify the size and location of potential vegetation issues. Following discussion with the development team a management plan can be drawn up to identify what works are to be undertaken and at what stages of the development and by whom.
Having identified potential issues on site a treatment plan can be implemented to control and manage a range of invasive and problematic weed species present within the site.
Clearing the site of trees and scrub as part of advance works not only allows better access for intrusive survey works, but also potentially reduces the risk of bird nesting and other such ecological issues slowing or delaying development.
Following site clearance a bare earth treatment plan can be implemented on the site prior to construction commencing. This will not only help to prevent the site from becoming overgrown again but can also be used to prevent environmental issues such as Field Horse Tail or encroachment of seed based species such as Himalayan Balsam or Ragwort
Where materials are stockpiled in later phases of a development a general treatment programme can be implemented to prevent the stockpiles from becoming overgrown and infested with weeds. This not only retains the stockpiled material as more useable further down the line but can also improve the aesthetics of a site from a customer purchase point of view.
Hard surface treatment of moss and algae to help prevent slip and trip issues but also to assist with the visual appearance of a development. This can also be useful in the maintenance of areas around office and industrial buildings.
Once weeds get into an area of grass they can soon take over and damage the appearance of landscaping areas. Selective treatment of these areas can prevent weed species from taking hold.
